Quick Install Linux LTSP [Ubuntu 64bit/32bit]

Installing an LTSP Server

Installing from CD
Starting with the Hardy Heron (8.04) release the LTSP installer functionality was moved to the Ubuntu alternate CD. All future releases follow this format.
iso.png Get the Precise Pangolin iso from http://releases.ubuntu.com/releases/12.04.
The installer will set up an out of the box working LTSP install for you if your server has two network cards built in.
If that is not the case it will tell you what to modify to run with a single network card.
LTSP installer warns you about a single NIC server
Once you boot up the CD, hit F4. The "Modes" menu will pop up. Select "Install an LTSP Server". Now just move on with the install.

Towards the end of the install the installer will start to build the client environment from the packages on the CD.
Installer builds the thin client environment
Which then will be compressed into an image...
Installer compresses the client's NBD image
If the installer is done and has rebooted into your new system you will be able to boot your first Thin Client right away.

Installing on top of an already running desktop system

You need to set up one static network interface where you will attach the thin clients, install two packages and run one command.
Configure your spare interface for the thin clients to have the IP (and make sure it is up and running). If you can't get the new GNOME network manager to work you can always install the older, simpler version of network manager by going to the "add/remove" window and searching "network". Make sure to search "all available packages" and "apply" the changes. You will find the new network manager under settings -> network. Then follow the instructions below.
sudo apt-get install ltsp-server-standalone
Now create your Thin Client environment on the server with.
sudo ltsp-build-client
  • Warning /!\ If you are on a 64-bit system but your clients have another architecture use the --arch option eg. sudo ltsp-build-client --arch i386
After that, you will be able to boot your first thin client. If it doesn't boot try rebooting the server.

  • Warning /!\ Note that if you want to use another IP than the above, you need to edit the /etc/ltsp/dhcpd.conf file to match the IP values and restart the dhcp server. WARNING: Use the service command and not the init.d/ script because dhcpd's sysvinit script is not compatible with Ubuntu/upstart and will error when it your config is correct.

There are also virtual desktops available on the bottom of the screen so you can easily switch. One great thing about this shortcut is that you only have to press it once, there’s no need to hold the buttons down.Alt+Tab – This keyboard shortcut has been present for a long time, and it works the same in Windows 10, but unlike Windows Key + Tab, it allows you to switch through all windows on all virtual desktops.

Command Prompt just got support for keyboard shortcuts in Windows 10, but before you use them make sure that you’ve enabled them. To enable shortcuts in Command Prompt right click the Command Prompt and choose Properties. Go to Options tab and uncheck Use legacy console, enable Ctrl key shortcuts and two text section options.

As for the shortcuts, the following are available:

Shift+Left — select text to the left of the cursor.Shift+Right — select text to the left of the cursor.Ctrl+Shift+Left (or Right) — select blocks of text instead of just characters at a time.Ctrl+C — copy selected text.Ctrl+V — paste the selected.Ctrl+A — select all text after the prompt. All of these shortcuts are available in text editors, but they are now available in Command Prompt for the first time.

[Fix] Safely Hardware Icon in Windows 10

Tidak ada komentar:

Solve it is to follow these steps:

Press Windows key and R at the same time. This will open Run window
Enter the following command into Run, and press Enter:
RunDll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll
This will open Safely Remove Hardware dialog, from this dialog, you can select the device you want to remove, and remove it, by clicking on Stop safely remove hardware windows 10
We hope that this problem won’t happen more than once, but if it does happen again, you can create a Desktop shortcut to Safely Remove Hardware dialog, so you don’t have to launch it from Run every time. To create this shortcut, just follow the instructions:

Right-click on Desktop, and go to New>Shortcut
Enter the following location of the shortcut:
RunDll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dllsafely remove hardware error windows 10
Click Next, and rename it to Safely Remove Hardware
Click Finish
That would be all, I hope that problem with Safely Remove Hardware icon disappearance won’t bother you more than once. Tell us in the comments, do you prefer to ‘use’ Safely Remove Hardware button when you’re removing your USB (or some other peripheral), or you just pull it out?
